This standard DIN EN 1442 is the revision of the relevant manufacturing standard for steel LPG cylinders (DIN EN 1442: 2008-04). The standard specifies the minimum requirements for the design, construction and testing during manufacture (production tests) of transportable, refillable, welded steel liquefied petroleum gas cylinders (LPG), of water capacity from 0,5 l up to and including 150 l. Compared to the 2008 version, over-moulded cylinders have been included and a minimum burst pressure of 50 bar has been re-established for all cylinders. This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 286/WG 1 "Design and manufacture of LPG pressure vessels" (secretariat: BSI, UK). Working Committee NA 016-00-06 AA "Flüssiggas-Geräte und Ausrüstung; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 286" ("Liquefied petroleum gas equipment and accessories; Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 286") at DIN Standards Committee Pressurized Gas Installations (NDG) collaborated in preparation of the standard.
This document replaces DIN EN 1442:2008-04 .
