DIN EN 14359:2017-09

This standard incorporates the German version of EN 14359:2017 prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 54 "Unfired pressure vessels" within the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). It describes the requirements for materials, design, manufacture, testing, safety systems and documentation (including instructions for first operation) for commonly-used types of gas-loaded accumulators and pressure vessels for fluid power applications. This standard differs from DIN EN 14359:2011-04 as follows: a) in general, references have been aligned to the new Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU; b) the Scope has been broadened so as not to specifically exclude accumulators containing Group 1 liquids or gases; - in Clause 5, Basic design and calculation criteria, Table 5.4-2 (Table 3 in this document): permissible values of nominal design stress for fine grain structural steels and heat treated steels have been added; - in Subclause 7.6, Fatigue strength, the normative text has been refined; - in the Annexes: Conformity assessment modules and activities have been omitted in this edition; - more information is given in the informative Annexes C to F. - the informative Annexes B and ZA have been brought up to date, taking into account the new Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU. The national interests in its preparation are represented by Committee NA 060-36-19 AA "Hydrospeicher" ("Hydraulic accumulators") in Sector "Fluid power systems" of DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of the manufacturers and users of hydraulic accumulators were involved in the preparation of the standard.
