DIN EN 13953 specifies the design, testing and marking requirements for spring loaded pressure relief valves (PRV), for use in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. These PRVs can be either an integral part of a cylinder valve (see EN ISO 14245 and EN ISO 15995) or a separate device. The use of other designs of pressure relief devices that provide a similar level of safety is not excluded. The standard represents a revision of the last version of DIN EN 13953 as of 2007-06. Thereby, in particular the nominal set pressure of the PRVs has been changed as well as a new endurance test for the test programme for the design has been included.
