This standard defines relevant requirements set out in Annex I of the EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, relating to machines which were placed on the European Economic Area (EEA) market for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with such requirements. Once this standard is designated a harmonized standard in the Official Journal of the European Communities, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (the so-called presumption of conformity). This document specifies the safety and hygiene requirements for the design and manufacture of cooking kettles equipped with powered stirrer and/or mixer, thereby taking account of installation, operation, cleaning, removal of jammed food, feeding, maintenance and changing of the tools. Cooking kettles equipped with powered stirrer and/or mixer are used from commercial kitchens to small industrial enterprises to cook, cool and mix cold and hot food. They permit addition of ingredients without stopping the machine.
This document replaces DIN EN 13886:2005-08 .
