Overview

This European Standard specifies requirements for helmets, which may have a peak, for persons engaged in equestrian activities. It contains safety requirements including test methods and levels. Requirements and the corresponding methods of test are given for the following: - construction, including field of vision; - shock absorbing properties; - resistance to penetration; - lateral deformation; - retention system properties; - deflection of peak (if any); - marking and information; - use of headforms in accordance with EN 960:2006. The responsible national standardization committee is Working Committee NA 112-04-02 AA "Sportschutzhelme" ("Sports protective helmets") at DIN Standards Committee Sports Equipment (NASport).
