This European Standard specifies the minimum additional characteristics which are necessary for homogenous and heterogeneous polyvinyl chloride floor coverings in the form of tiles or roll form according to EN ISO 10581 or EN ISO 10582 and polyvinyl chloride floor coverings with foam backing in roll form according to EN 651. It specifies two categories (A and B) for use on different substrates. This European Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 134 "Resilient, textile and laminate floor coverings", the secretariat of which is held by NBN (Belgium). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 054-04-05 AA "Bodenbeläge" ("Floor coverings") of the Standards Committee Plastics (FNK) at DIN.
