DIN EN 13329:2016-08

This European Standard specifies characteristics, requirements and test methods for laminate floor coverings with a surface layer based on aminoplastic thermosetting resins. It includes a classification system giving practical requirements for areas of use and levels of use, to indicate where laminate floor coverings will give satisfactory service and to encourage the consumer to make an informed choice. It also specifies requirements for marking and packaging. Laminate floor coverings are considered for domestic and commercial levels of use, including domestic kitchens. This standard does not specify requirements relating to areas which are subjected to frequent wetting, such as bathrooms, laundry rooms or saunas. Compared to DIN EN 13329:2009-01 a general definition for laminate flooring has been included, the test methods for light fastness have been more precisely specified and requirements for thickness tolerances of elements with already attached underlay materials have been added. Abrasion resistance requirements have been modified and requirements for behavior to cigarette burns have been deleted. Surface soundness has been changed to a classification property, increasing some of the requirements in the process. A defined underlay has been specified for the determination of impact resistance with the large ball. The requirements for swelling in thickness and dimensional stability have been changed and requirements for joint strength added. Micro-scratch resistance has been included as a technical property, the abrasion resistance test method has been specified in greater detail in Annex E, and Annex G has been added for friction wheel hardness measurements. In addition, the test method for impact resistance has been specified in more detail in Annex H.
