This part of this European Standard specifies the minimum requirements for safety-related equipment for shell boilers as defined in DIN EN 12953-1, to ensure the boiler operates within the allowable limits (pressure, temperature, etcetera). This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 269 "Shell and water-tube boilers", the secretariat of which is held by DIN. The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 082-00-18 AA "Dampfkesselanlagen" ("Boiler plants") of the Piping and Boiler Plant Standards Committee (NARD).
