This Type C standard contains safety regulations. It contains the German version of Amendment A1:2010 to EN 12629-2:2002, which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 151 "Construction equipment and building material machines - Safety", the secretariat of which is held by DIN (Germany) of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The national interests during the preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-013-10 "Betonsteinmaschinen" ("Concrete block machines") of Technical Section Bau- und Baustoffmaschinen (Construction equipment and building material machines) of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of manufacturers and users of concrete block machines, as well as representatives of professional and trade associations are involved in the preparation of the standard. This European Standard defines, in connection with the previously valid standard EN 12629-2:2002, relevant requirements set out in Annex I of the new EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, relating to machines which were placed on the market within the EEA for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with such requirements. This part of EN 12629, taken together with EN 12629-1:2000+A1:2010, applies to machines for the manufacture of blocks, kerbs, paving stones and similar concrete products. EN 12629-1:2000+A1:2010 specifies general requirements applicable to machines for the manufacture of constructional products from concrete and calcium-silicate. This document describes the additional requirements to and/or the deviations from EN 12629-1:2000+A1:2010 specific to the machines it covers. This European Standard deals with all significant hazards pertinent to these machines, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see clause 4). This European Standard specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards. Within the framework of the adaptation to the new Machinery Directive, the following changes have been made with respect to EN 12629-2:2003-06: - amendment of the foreword; - amendment of the introduction; - amendment and update of the scope (clause 1); - update of the normative references (clause 2); - amendment and update of clause 3 (terms and definitions); - amendment and update of the significant hazards in clause 4; - amendment of the safety requirements and/or protective measures in clause 5; - update of the verification of safety requirements and/or protective measures in clause 6; - amendment and update of the information for use in Clause 7; - update of the marking in clause 8; - update of the mechanical hazards zones and requirements in Annex A; - update of the informative Annex ZA on the relationship between this European Standard and the essential requirements of EU Directive 2006/42/EC.
This document replaces DIN EN 12629-2:2003-06 .
