DIN EN 12516-4:2015-01

EN 12516-4 specifies the calculation method for valve shells manufactured in metallic materials other than steel. The loadings to be accounted for shall be in accordance with EN 12516-2. Design methods shall be in accordance with EN 12516-2 and design by formulae according to the relevant clauses. If the materials specified in the tables are not available, then other suitable materials may be used if the technical documentation with the information on the material properties has been approved in accordance with the requirements for the European Approval for Materials (EAM) or for Parts Manufacture Approval (PMA). If harmonised material standards do not contain mechanical values for design conditions, then specific material tests according to EC Directive 97/23/EC (PED) shall be carried out by the designated body. This document (prEN 12516-4:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 69 "Industrial valves", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. The responsible German body is Working Committee NA 003-01-01 AA "Grundnormen" ("Basic Standards") at DIN Standards Committee Valves (NAA).
