DIN EN 12480:2015-05

This European Standard specifies ranges, construction, performances, output characteristics and testing of rotary displacement gas meters (hereinafter referred to as RD meters or simply meters) for gas volume measurement. The standard has been revised with regard to the instrument-specific requirements of directive MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) issued by the European Parliament in March 2004. Previous editions: DIN EN 12480:2007-09; DIN EN 12480/A1:2006-09; DIN EN 12480:2002-10; DIN EN 12480/1996-12. This European Standard applies to rotary displacement gas meters used to measure the volume of fuel gases of at least the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gas families, the composition of which is described in EN 437+A1:2009, at a maximum working pressure up to and including 20 bar over an ambient and gas temperature range of at least -10 °C to +40 °C. It was primarily written to address metrological issues and to provide a conformity assessment of rd meters. In Annex ZA and Annex ZB, this standard clearly states which clauses are characteristic of the metrological or pressure-limiting requirements or which apply to both.
