This standard indicates the test levels and test conditions for lifts, escalators and moving walks with regards to continuous and temporary line- or radiation-related disturbances including electrostatic discharge. This standard applies to sub-systems and/or apparatus of lifts, escalators and moving walks that form one system. However, this standard does not apply to lighting apparatus and other apparatus already proven to be in conformity to the EMC Directive. This standard contains the German version of EN 12016:2013 which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 10 "Lifts, escalators and moving walks" at the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). In addition to the previous standard, requirements for radio frequency electromagnetic fields to cover the digital mobile telephone services and wireless communication systems up to 2 655 MHz have been included. Furthermore, performance criteria requirements for radio equipment as defined by Directive 1999/5/EC and used in combined apparatus have been specified. The national interests during the preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-33-01 AA "Aufzüge" ("Lifts") of the Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of manufacturers and users of lifts, and of the employers' liability insurance associations contributed to this standard.
This document replaces DIN EN 12016:2009-02 .
