The standard specifies requirements for execution of steel structures which have been produced from - hot-rolled, structural steel products up to and including grade S690 - cold-formed components and sheeting up to and including grades S700MC for stainless steel and S690 for structural steel - hot-finished and cold-formed austenitic and austenitic-ferritic stainless steel products - circular, square or rectangular hollow sections, manufactured as standard range rolled steel products or custom-made products. The standard applies to structures designed according to the relevant part of DIN EN 1993. For cold-formed components and sheeting the requirements in this standard apply for structural classes I and II according to DIN 1993-1-3. The standard also applies to steel components in composite steel and concrete structures designed according to the relevant part of DIN EN 1994. It may be used for structures designed according to other design rules provided that conditions for execution comply with them and any necessary additional requirements are specified. The European Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 135 "Execution of steel structures and aluminium structures". Germany was involved in the preparation through experts of national Mirror Committee NA 005-08-14 AA "Stahlbauten; Herstellung (Sp CEN/TC 135)" ("Steel structures; Fabrication (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 135)").
