The standard DIN EN 1069-2 is applicable to all water slides as defined in EN 1069-1:2010. According to EN 1069-1, a water slide is a piece of equipment or installation with a sliding surface on which the user slides due to gravity and with water as friction-reducing medium; the user slides freely or with the use of a ride enhancement device. This standard specifies the instructions for use, operation and maintenance as well as their documentation and commissioning of water slides. EN 1069-2:2010 has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 136/WG 3 "Water slides", the secretariat of which is held by DIN (Germany). The responsible German Committee is Working Committee NA 112-05-01 AA "Schwimmsportanlagen und -geräte" ("Swimmingpool facilities and equipment") of the Sports Equipment Standards Committee (NASport) at DIN.
