DIN EN 1034-27:2012-12

This type C standard contains safety requirements. It contains the German version of EN 1034-27:2012, which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 198 "Printing and paper machinery - Safety" of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The secretariat is held by DIN. During the preparation of the standard, the national interests were represented by Working Committee NA 060-23-02 AA "Druck- und Papiermaschinen" ("Printing and paper machinery") at Technical Section "Printing and paper machinery" of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of machine manufacturers, and of the employers' liability insurance association for the raw material and chemical industry (formerly known as employers' liability insurance association for papermakers) contributed to this standard. This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and which apply to machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the European Economic Area (EEA) to facilitate proof of compliance with these requirements. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a "harmonized" standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive ("presumption of conformity"). This European Standard applies to roll handling systems for use in paper finishing and shall be applied together with EN 1034-1:2000+A1:2010. It deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events relevant to roll handling systems, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer. This standard does not apply to: - machine reel handling systems, - stacker trucks, industrial trucks and driverless industrial trucks, - separate storage systems with cranes and high bay storage systems, - portable devices for moving rolls.
