This type C standard includes safety requirements. This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and which apply to paper making and finishing machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of the directive. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a "harmonized" standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive ("presumption of conformity"). This European Standard applies to roll packaging machines for use in papermaking and applies together with EN 1034-1:2000+A1:2010. It deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events relevant to roll packaging machines, when used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer. This standard contains the German version of EN 1034-26:2012 which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 198 "Printing and paper machinery - Safety" of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). During the preparation of the standard, the national interests were represented by Working Committee NA 060-23-02 AA "Druck- und Papiermaschinen" ("Printing and paper machinery"), Technical Section "Printing and paper machinery" of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM) at DIN. Representatives of machine manufacturers and of the employers' liability insurance association for the raw material and chemical industry (formerly known as employers' liability insurance association for papermakers) contributed to this standard. Application: machine designers.
