Overview

This European Standard specifies the methods for general testing of steel wire and wire products which have been cold worked, annealed or oil hardened and tempered and/or coated and are of constant cross section, either of circular or of special forms. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN EN 10218-1:1994-05: editorial revision, update of the normative references or revision of the figures for wire displacement and fracture occurring during torsion test. The responsible German standardization committee is Subcommittee 08/4 "Patentiert-gezogener oder vergüteter Federstahldraht" ("Patented cold drawn or quenched and tempered spring steel wire") of the Iron and Steel Standards Committee (FES).
