DIN 9868:2014-12

This document specifies requirements for dimensions, types, designations and materials for press tool sets of steel. These steel press tool sets are applied for the construction of pressing tools. For the purposes of this standard, pressing is defined using the concepts according to the standards on manufacturing processes (for example DIN 8582, DIN 9869-1 and DIN 9869-2) - Forming, separating and joining. With this standard, the type diversity of press tool sets of steel shall be limited. In accordance with the respective industry-specific requirements, guide pillars accordance with DIN 9825-2 or the standards DIN 9825-3 and DIN 9825-4 with the associated guide bushes in accordance with DIN 9831-1 or DIN 9831-2 are allocated to the press tool sets. The system for the allocation of the guide pillars and associated guide bushings to the standardized plates for press tool sets and the possible variants are contained in clause 3 of this standard. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-03-02 AA "Werkzeuge der Stanztechnik" ("Tools for pressing") of the Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices (FWS) at DIN.
