The guide pillars specified in standard DIN 9833 are used in large stamping dies for the accurate guiding of both tool halves (upper/lower part of the tool). The outer diameters of the guide pillars from d1 = 25 mm to d1 = 160 mm in the progressive ratio of the R10 series of the preferred numbers are specified. Depending on d1 the total lengths from I1 = 125 mm to I1 = 560 mm according to the R20 series are specified and allocated. Furthermore, the standard contains additional dimensions, tolerances, surface details and material and hardness requirements. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-03-02 AA of the Tools and Clamping Devices Standards Committee (FWS) at DIN.
This document replaces DIN 9833:2006-09 .
