DIN 9825-2: In the standard dimensions, tolerances, material and hardness for smooth guide pillars are specified. They apply for guide bushes in accordance with DIN 9831-1 (gliding bushes) or DIN 9831-2 (ball cage bushes) in press tool sets. The guide pillars are specified in accordance with preferred numbers for the diameter as well as the length grading. Diameters from 12 mm to 80 mm are graded in accordance with the R10 series and assigned lengths from 80 mm to 560 mm are graded in accordance with the R20 series. For diameters d1 = 12 mm to 63 mm guide pillars that are around 1 mm to 3 mm smaller and which shall be used during installation in press tool sets with centrally or diagonally arranged guide pillars are respectively listed in order to achieve that the top part of the tool and the bottom part of the tool can be joined together only in the correct position. DIN 9825-4: In the standard dimensions, tolerances, material and hardness for guide pillars with collar are specified. They apply for guide bushes in accordance with DIN 9831-1 (gliding bushes) or DIN 9831-2 (ball cage bushes) in press tool sets. The specifications regarding dimensions, grading, tolerances, material and hardness apply analogous to those given in DIN 9825-2, where the total length for d1 = 80 ends at 460 mm. DIN 9831-1 In the standard dimensions, tolerances, material and design for guide bushes without collar, with collar and with flange for gliding bushes are specified. They apply for guide pillars in accordance with DIN 9825-2, DIN 9825-3 and DIN 9825-4 in press tool sets. The dimensions and limit deviations are aligned with the requirements for standardized guide pillars in accordance with DIN 9825-2 to DIN 9825-4. In clause "Material" a selection of different materials is listed that are either selected by the manufacturer or agreed upon by the user during ordering. DIN 9831-2 In the standard dimensions, tolerances, material and design for guide bushes without collar, with collar and with flange for ball cage bushes are specified. They apply for guide pillars in accordance with DIN 9825-2, DIN 9825-3 and DIN 9825-4 in press tool sets. The dimensions and tolerances are aligned with the requirements for standardized guide pillars in accordance with DIN 9825-2 through DIN 9825-4. In clauses "Material" and "Design" minimum conditions for guide bushes, ball cages and rolling elements are specified. The standards have been prepared by NA 121-03-02 AA "Werkzeuge der Stanztechnik" ("Tools for pressing") of the Tools and Clamping Devices Standards Committee (FWS) at DIN.
