This standard specifies hexagon slotted and castle nuts with metric coarse and fine pitch thread and nominal thread diameter between 6 mm to 52 mm of product grade A (up to 16 mm nominal thread diameter) and product grade B (over 16 mm nominal thread diameter). In addition to editorial revisions, the mechanical characteristics have been revised. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 067-00-02 AA "Verbindungselemente mit metrischem Außengewinde" ("Fasteners with metric external threads") of the Standards Committee Fasteners (FMV) at DIN e. V.
