Overview

This standard is applicable for the representation of piping and hose assemblies, pipe and hose joints and penetrations in the technical documentation for scheme-drawings and plans such as general sketches and similar abstract descriptions for seagoing vessels, inland vessels, vessels of the Bundeswehr and other authorities as well as for offshore-units. This standard lays down shape and meaning of graphical symbols for piping and hose assemblies, pipe and hose joints and penetrations. Graphical symbols for technical product documentation for hydraulic or pneumatic systems are defined in ISO 1219-1. The new edition of this generic standard is primarily aimed at shipyards and suppliers to shipyards. Working Committee NA 132-05-02 AA "Graphische Symbole" ("Graphical symbols") at DIN is responsible for this standard.
