DIN 8472-1:2011-11

With DIN 8472-1, the standard DIN 32601-3:1993-04 "Industrial trucks; supermarket trolleys, with platform for carrying on conveyers; safety requirements and testing" will be completely revised. Together with DIN 8472-2 "Basket trolleys - Part 2: Requirements and tests for basket trolleys with base trays with or without a child carrying facility, intended to be used on passenger conveyors" which is currently under preparation, the European standard series EN 1929 "Basket trolleys" is completed at first on the national level. During the preparation of DIN 8472-1, the working committee has considered the designs of basket trolleys present in DIY markets, garden centres and furniture markets. Great importance was attached to meeting the safety requirements of established basket trolleys for private goods transport which can be pushed together. The customer expects safe and practical transport equipment which can be easily and simply loaded and operated and which allows that bulky goods can be transported without effort and easily from the shelf to the parking space, often even with children. DIN 8472-1 also contains practice-oriented safety tests. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 020-00-05 AA "Einkaufswagen" ("Basket trolleys") at NAEBM.
