On seagoing ships, thick-walled pipes are also used as ventilation components on deck for ventilation systems. Thick-walled pipes on deck of seagoing ships also require thick-walled, more stable flange connections (flange and flange gaskets). For the thick-walled flanges (from 40×8 to 60×12, width×thickness) for the nominal sizes DN 100 to DN 1600, there is a requirement to use a weldable steel with a minimum tensile strength Rm = 360 N / mm2. In tabular form, the nominal widths DN 100 to DN 1800 with associated tube outside and internal pipe diameters, pitch circle and hole diameters, as well as the corresponding number of screws, thread and mass were illustrated. This standard has been prepared by the DIN Standards Committee Shipbuilding and Marine Technology (NSMT), Working Committee NA 132-02-03 AA "Lüftungs-, Klima- und Kältetechnik" ("Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning").
