It does not apply to run-up zones. This standard does not apply to construction covers of pole vault mats. For the specific requirements of international official competitions see the relevant guidelines of the International Association of Athletics Federations IAAF. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 112-01-01 AA "Leichtathletikgeräte" ("Athletic equipment") at DIN.
