This standard applies to lifting devices operated by electric motors (devices for raising and lowering built-in gymnastics and playing field equipment between its storage and use position, including the drive element), whose main drive element is a tubular electric motor with a usability according to DIN EN 14202. They are designed for guided lifting in the storage position, holding in the storage position and guided lowering in the operating position for standardized gymnastics and playing field equipment installed in halls (Class A). DIN EN 14492-2:2010-05 (Class B) applies to all other electric lifting devices whose main drive element is not an electric tubular motor or a hydraulic or pneumatic motor, and to non-guided lifting movements or gymnastics and playing equipment that is freely suspended in the storage state. This standard does not apply to manually-operated lifting devices, such as hand-cranked or counterweight-operated lifting devices. This standard does not apply to any part of the structure of the lifting or safety device, its suspension or its attachment points, any device for adjusting the device and/or the gymnastics and playing equipment itself. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 112-01-02 AA "Turngeräte, Matten und Spielfeldgeräte" ("Gymnastic equipment, mats and playing field equipment") at DIN Standards Committee Sports Equipment (NASport).
