Overview

The product standard has been prepared by Committee NA 045-02-10 AA "Fugendichtungen" ("Sealants") at the Rubber Technology Standards Committee (FAKAU). It regulates the selection of the basic polymer of elastomer waterstops for various expositions beyond the scope of DIN 7865-2. This standard applies for elastomer waterstops with and without steel plates intended for sealing against soil moisture, non-pressing or pressing waters as well as for closing joints. The elastomer waterstops are set in concrete when producing joints in concrete members or structures made of waterproof concrete according to standard DIN 1045. This standard applies for elastomer waterstops in the following exposure areas: 1) wastewater 2) ground water 3) drinking water 4) sea water 5) de-icing agent 6) fuels and oils 7) fire 8) low temperatures 9) ozone pollution The requirements for the material properties of the elastomer waterstops are specified for the aforementioned exposure areas.
