Overview

This series of standards covers services that serve the following purposes in particular: - as a preventive measure, - protection against the dangers of crime, operational failures, damage caused by natural disasters, malfunctions and technical faults, organizational deficiencies, and - reduction of damage that may result from the aforementioned dangers. The standard part DIN 77200-1 contains minimum requirements for security service providers and their branches as contractors (AN) of security services (SDL) in terms of organization, processes and personnel. The DIN 77200 series of standards serves to ensure uniform understanding between the client and the contractor and to provide transparency and clarity in determining the scope of the contract. It contains performance criteria for the awarding of security services by public and private clients. The DIN 77200 series of standards can be used by clients, contractors, public authorities, non-governmental organizations and consumers, as well as all interested parties, including certification bodies, to assess the contractor's ability to meet the client's requirements, statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the SDL, as well as the requirements applicable to the contractor as such. DIN 77200-1 is to be applied by providers, contractors and clients of security services, as well as by bodies that carry out assessments based on the requirements set out in this part of the standard and evaluate the performance of security service providers as part of their range of services in accordance with this part of the standard (conformity assessment). DIN 77200-1 is also suitable for tender documentation (see 4.23), provided that a contract is to be put out to tender in compliance with the requirements of this series of standards, even if the contractor is not certified accordingly. Providers and contractors of security services are grouped together under the term "security service providers" in this series of standards (see 3.1). Requirements for testing and conformity assessment as well as for the competent bodies (certification bodies) are specified in DIN 77200-3. In this part of the DIN 77200 series of standards, requirements and performance criteria are specified exclusively for the SDL listed below and the executing security service provider. 1) Stationary SDL, in particular: - alarm service; - reception service; - control service; 2) Mobile SDL, in particular: - patrol service; - intervention service; - control service; 3) Event security service. Further security services (SDL) for special service areas are dealt with in DIN 77200-2 within this series of standards, which is currently in preparation. Annex A lists requirement profiles in which the characteristic activities in the context of the aforementioned security services are to be defined with their performance characteristics on the basis of qualification requirements for security staff. This serves to clearly differentiate between the security services and provides the security service provider and the client with the essential basis for defining the scope of services to be agreed. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 159-01-02 AA "Wach- und Sicherheitsdienstleistungen" ("Private security services") at DIN Standards Committee Services (NADL).
