Since the previous versions of DIN 73379, Parts 1 and 2, have been withdrawn, there is currently no adequate overall acceptance specification in the German-speaking area. The present standard, by its nature, is a technical, basic and test standard. It describes the requirements for rubber-based fuel hoses, both in terms of performance of suitable materials as well as of the function of the component and applicable test methods. Moreover, the latest material combinations for the fulfilment of regulatory requirements are taken into account. The scope is not limited to the automotive and supplying industries. It is rather expected that they will be used in various industries, for example for machine hoses in the industrial sector. To sum it up, the standard describes products tested in the delivery condition for different areas of applications by detailed illustration of the state of the art of fuel hose systems. Compared to the previous standard, the following modifications have been made: a) Part 1 and 2 summarized, b) combination of applicable materials updated , c) Part 3 will be transformed to an individual standard. Work is scheduled to begin soon. The committee responsible for this document is NA 051-01-40-02 AK "Kraftstoffleitungen" ("Fuel pipes") at DIN.
This document replaces DIN 73379-1:1997-11 , DIN 73379-2:1997-11 .
