Overview

This standard primarily specifies dimensions for the frame sizes and connection-specific design (fastening) of machining units (for example, multi-spindle heads with stub spindles according to DIN 69002 as well as spindles for milling, drilling, countersinking, reaming and thread cutting operations), measurement and handling units on machine frames of transfer centres. The standard covers the interface design between these units and transfer centres as well as the enclosure designs of the units for front and side mounting. The specifications ensure interchangeability of the units in the transfer centres. This reduces costs and allows the user to flexibly use both the machines and the modular units for various machines of different manufacturers at the same quality level with regard to the processing flows. The machines described are primarily intended for application in series production with higher quantities.
