This standard applies to panels and cassettes made of wood-based materials with outer layer. They are used for cladding walls and ceilings. This standard defines terms and specifies the designation of panels. Compared to DIN 68740-1:1999-10, the title has been changed, DIN EN 13556 has been taken into account for the designation of wood species, the structure of the standard has been adapted to the current design rules and the bibliographic references have been updated. The responsible committee is Working Committee NA 042-02-15 AA "Holzwerkstoffe - Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 112 und ISO/TC 89" ("Wood-based panels - Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 112 and ISO/TC 89") at DIN Standards Committee Timber and Furniture (NHM).
This document replaces DIN 68740-1:1999-10 .
