The complexity and increased accuracy requirements for the services of a radiological department require extensive measures for assurance of desired diagnostic success. The task of this standard is to adjust the rules for introduction and implementation of a quality management system in accordance with ISO 9000 to issues regarding radiology. The standard shall be applied to all services provided within a radiological organization. This is also applicable when the QM system of the radiological organization is introduced as a part within a superordinate QM system. This standard is not applicable for processes of nuclear medicine and radiation therapy. The standard is only applicable in association with DIN 6870-100 "Quality management system in medical radiology - Part 100: General". This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 080-00-04 AA "Informationsverarbeitung" ("Information processing") of the Radiology Standards Committee.
