Overview

This standard has been prepared by interested experts at DIN Standards Committee NA 131-02-06 AA "Additive Fertigungsverfahren in der Luft- und Raumfahrt" ("Additive manufacturing processes in aerospace") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). This draft standard provides information on the testing of additively manufactured metallic products (components and samples) produced by powder bed processes. Destructive and non-destructive testing methods are evaluated with regard to their suitability. For additively manufactured products made of metallic wires or rods, reference is made to the relevant welding standards (for example DIN 29595). This draft standard is applicable to the aerospace sector, but can also be agreed for other sectors.
