Overview

This standard specifies requirements for the packaging of optical devices and components used in optical industries. It shall serve to design, by meaningful requirements for packagings, the transport and in-house handling and storage of optical devices in as safe a manner as possible and, as a result, avoid unnecessary costs. Compilation of the given specifications serves the user, on the one hand, to define the relevant requirements for the packaging manufacturer, on the other hand, for the packaging manufacturer to recognize and implement them. The committee responsible for this standardization project is NA 027-01-11 AA "Fertigungsmittel der Optik" ("Production means in optical engineering") at DIN.
