This standard applies to combination filters for protection against radioactive methyliodide and radioactive particles for use in nuclear power plants, isotope laboratories and similar facilities as component of respiratory protective devices dependent upon ambient air. It contains laboratory tests in order to detect compliance with the requirements. Some filters may be suitable for other types of respiratory protective devices. If this is the case, they shall be additionally tested and marked in accordance with the respective standard.
