Overview
The DIN 58141 standard series specifies test methods for fibre optic elements. This standard is applicable for testing of fibre optic elements and products for image transmission and transmission of light and optical radiation from the near-infrared and ultraviolet spectral range. It does not apply to fibre optic elements intended for transfer of messages and data. The purpose of this standard is to specify a uniform method to determine the illuminance and effective aperture angle of cold light sources. The standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 027-01-16 AA "Faseroptik" ("Fibre optics") of NAFuO.
Please get in touch with the relevant contact person at DIN if you have problems understanding the content of the standard or need advice on how to apply it.
