DIN 55988:2013-04

This standard specifies methods for colorimetric determination of indices for the transparency (glaze) of pigmented and unpigmented systems. The methods for comparable assessment of transparent (glazed) pigments can serve under the prerequisite of identical sample preparation (binding agent system, method of application, layer thickness/concentration). The standard replaces DIN 55988:1989-04. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN 55988:1989-04: a) spread colour difference has been incorporated as an additional index; b) the title of the standard has been extended to include "indices for the transparency"; c) the content of the standard has been revised editorially and updated. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 078-00-03 AA "Allgemeine Prüfverfahren für Farbmittel und Füllstoffe" ("General test methods for colorants and extenders") at DIN.
