Overview

DIN 51898-2 specifies extensions to the production and evaluation methodology described in DIN 51898-1: - single-stage production using gas mixtures as input gases, - multi-stage dilution of pure gases and gas mixtures. The purpose of these extensions is to cover important areas of application for piston pump systems that go beyond the single-stage production of calibration gases from pure gases: - use as dilution systems for the production of calibration gases with contents in the ppm and sub-ppm range; - use as mixing systems for calibration gases for the production of multi-component mixtures or "interpolating" calibration gases for multi-point calibrations. The committee responsible for this standard is Working Committee NA 062-05-73 AA "Gasanalyse und Gasbeschaffenheit" ("Gas analysis and gas quality") at DIN.
