Overview

This document has been prepared by Working Committees NA 062-06-11 AA "Atomspektrometrie" ("Atomic spectrometry") and NA 062-06-63 AA "Gebrauchtöluntersuchung" ("Analysis of used oils") of Technical Committee Petroleum, Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products Standardization Committee (FAM) at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP). This standard specifies a method for determining the chlorine content in used and unused mineral oils. The determination is applicable to all mineral oils that are used in biogas, sewage gas and landfill gas engines, as well as marine fuels. The determination is performed by means of optical emission spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP OES).
