This document has been prepared by NA 062-06-61-02 UA "Prüfung von Kühlschmierstoffen" ("Testing of cooling lubricants") at the Fachausschuss Mineralöl- und Brennstoffnormung (FAM) (Standardization Committee for petroleum, fuels, lubricants and related products (FAM)) of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP). The method according to this standard serves for the determination of the pH value of water-mixed cooling lubricants. Knowledge of the pH value is important in many cases as conclusions about the behaviour of water-mixed cooling lubricants and any changes during use are possible.
