This standard specifies special requirements for pendulum impact testing machines with a capacity of nominal energy ≤ 50 J, which are not specified in DIN EN ISO 148-2. Pendulum impact testing machines as in this standard are used to perform (Charpy) impact tests in accordance with DIN EN ISO 148-1, DIN 53453 and DIN 52189-1. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-01-44 AA "Schlagzähigkeitsprüfung für Metalle" ("Impact testing of metals") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing.
