DIN 50315:2010-05

This standard deals with the testing of metallic abrasives in as-delivered and unused conditions by centrifugal blasting under both laboratory and field conditions. Generally, the purpose of the test is to determine the effectiveness and consumption/wear. For special test methods additional agreements have to be made, if necessary. The results may be used for comparison of consignments from different manufacturers or for receiving inspection purposes. With respect to DIN 50315:1988-10 the following changes have been made: a) the scope of the standard was limited to the testing of the usual metallic abrasives, globular and angular cast steel shots; b) the clauses "Blasting abrasive testing machine" and "Top-up test" have been completely deleted; c) the clause abrasion test K50 test (50 % service life test) has been added; d) the standard has been editorially revised. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 002-00-11 AA "Blast cleaning abrasives" in the Coatings and Coating Materials Standards Committee (NAB).
