DIN 477-7:2014-05

The new version of DIN 477-7 is a revision of the withdrawn standard DIN 477-7:1984-01. The revision of the DIN 477 series had been necessary, because the 17E and 25E threads had been specified in other International Standards. However, a permanent need has been identified for the national thread W 31,3 × 1/14 used in acetylene gas cylinders and therefore the thread has been introduced in DIN 477-7:2012-06 again. The new DIN 477-7 comprises the corresponding gauges for this acetylene gas cylinder thread. The standard specifies dimensions and tolerances for gauges and reference gauges for the taper thread W 31,3 × 1/14 to be used in conjunction with internal threads of gas cylinder necks and inlet connection external threads of valves, used for example in conjunction with acetylene gas cylinders. This standard has been prepared by NA 016-00-03 AA "Druckgasflaschen und Ausrüstung; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 23 und ISO/TC 58" ("Transportable gas cylinders and equipment; national mirror committee to CEN/TC 23 and ISO/TC 58") at DIN Standards Committee Pressurized Gas Installations (NDG).
