Overview

This standard applies to structures which are partly or fully assembled of prefabricated reinforced components of autoclaved aerated concrete according to DIN EN 12602. AAC components according to DIN EN 12602 are subject to the method for verification of compliance (product with CE marking). This standard specifies the principles for the calculation, design and structural design of load-bearing structures composed either partially of entirely of prefabricated reinforced components of autoclaved aerated concrete with structural and non-structural reinforcement. Prefabricated reinforced components of autoclaved aerated concrete are industrially fabricated individual components. Interaction of these parts is primarily enabled by the use materials made of other autoclaved non-aerated concrete or a supporting substructure. The requirements for the material characteristics and the durability of the materials and components used are given in DIN 4223-100. The numerical values required for design for impacts on structures are contained in the standards of the DIN EN 1991 series. Proof of usability issued by the building inspection is required for seismic impacts. The following shall in particular taken be into account for structures from components of autoclaved aerated concrete: - structural design of gaps/connections; - structural design of supports; - load bearing capacity; - position stability during the various building, assembly and transportation conditions. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN 4223-3:2003-12 and DIN 4223-4:2003-12: a) regulations for the prefabricated components of autoclaved aerated concrete are dealt with in DIN EN 12602:2013-10. b) regulations for the application of design and calculation of structural components (former DIN 4223-4) and design and calculation of non-structural components (former DIN 4223-3, Clause 6) are summarized in this document. This document has been prepared by NA 005-07-09 AA "Porenbeton und haufwerksporiger Leichtbeton" ("Autoclaved aerated concrete and light-weight aggregate concrete with open structure") at the DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
