This draft standard applies to the mathematical verification of the overall stability and the necessary structural components for retaining structures on slopes, regardless of their construction and type of foundation, as well as for embankments and slopes in loose rock, regardless of their shape, on the basis of layer patterns and soil parameters specified in accordance with DIN 4020. It contains the calculation principles and calculation methods required to determine the ultimate limit state in the plane case when slipping on assumed sliding surfaces. This document has been prepared at Working Committee NA 005-05-04 AA "Baugrund; Berechnungsverfahren" ("Ground; calculation procedures ") at the DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering and contains amendments to DIN 4084:2009-01.
