This standard applies for low-maintenance stationary vented batteries with positive tubular plates in plastic containers which are used as current source, for example for safety lighting, for telecommunications, control- and drive technology as well as battery-powered plants for DC and AC power supply. This draft publication serves the national opinion. The results are intended to flow into international standardization at IEC/TC 21. The responsible committee is DKE/K 371 "Akkumulatoren" ("Secondary cells and batteries") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
