Overview

Signs according to this standard are used to mark civil defense facilities and installations. Since there are still protective structures with ties to civil defense, the continued need for this standard is given following consultation with the German Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK). The standard has been revised to bring it into line with the current status and, in addition to general requirements for civil defense signs, it also includes requirements for the following areas: - dimensions and designation; - materials; - design; - color design including lettering; - labeling. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-04-01 AA "Begriffe und Bildzeichen" ("Terms and pictograms") at DIN.
