This standard applies in conjunction with all other parts of the DIN 4003 series of standards. This standard specifies the basic principles for the design of 3D models based on properties according to DIN 4000, that is, basic start elements in the three-dimensional space, such as systems of coordinates, planes, axes and points are specified. Clause 4 defines basic content for 3D modeling in CAD systems for cutting tools, tools with fixed or detachable cutting edges, tool holders, intermediate modules, measuring probes, clamping devices, machine tools and their assemblies. The standard differs from DIN 4003-1:2014-02 as follows: a) normative references and bibliography have been updated; b) Clause 3 "Terms and definitions" has been added; c) Subclause 4.3 "Reference system" has been revised; d) Figure 4 "CSW A - Coordinate system, adjustable in the turning machine tool" and Figure 10 "Colour proportions of cutting and non-cutting areas" were revised; e) the built-in coordinate system CSW A (coordinate system workpiece side adjustable) has been added (see 4.3.3); f) a new Subclause 4.3.4 on the position of the coordinate systems has been added; g) the standard has been editorially revised. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 121-07-02 AA "Aufbau von 3D-Modellen nach DIN 4000" ("Design of 3D models based on properties according to DIN 4000") at DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices (FWS).
This document replaces DIN 4003-1:2014-02 .
