The aforementioned draft standards of the DIN 4000 series refer to the properties of - standardized and non-standardized standards, setting masters and normals for geometrical quantities (Part 164) - standardized and non-standardized gauges for geometrical quantities (Part 165) - manual measuring devices for industrial metrology (Part 166). These properties form a basis for communication, for example, between users and suppliers. A further aim is the categorization of properties in conformity classes, among others, in order to unify the exchange of information.
This document replaces DIN 4000-55:1987-11 .
