DIN 3966-3:2018-01

This standard clearly defines which information for describing worms and worm gearing shall be provided in drawings. The scope of application is therefore limited to worms and worm gearing. If necessary, users can add further information, such as the applicable gear cutting method or agreements on testing and acceptance. National interests in the preparation of the standard were represented by Committee NA 060-34-14 AA "Worm gears" in Technical Section "Gear" at DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of the manufacturers and users of worm gears as well as the employers' liability insurance associations were involved in the preparation. The standard differs from DIN 3966-3:1980-11 as follows:a) the designations of the determining variables have been adapted to DIN 3975-1; b) the dimensions to be indicated in drawings and tables have been revised; c) the normative references have been updated.
